MAR Authentication
Mathematical Art Representation (MAR) is a proprietary forensic authentication system developed by Nelson J. Diaz®. Using non-Euclidean geometry and conformal mapping, MAR analyzes brushstrokes, curvature fingerprints, and gestural energy to deliver objective, quantitative results — often reaching 95% to 99.66% probability of same-artist attribution.
Rooted in Diaz’s pioneering 1980s FORTRAN 77 research on the Cray X-MP supercomputer, MAR was further refined through his direct studies with Francis Bacon. This unique foundation allows the system to move beyond traditional connoisseur-ship, offering museums, galleries, and collectors independent scientific support for attribution and provenance decisions.
Specializing in many works on oil paintings, drawings, and works on paper on artist like Francis Bacon, Leonardo Da Vinci, Alberto Giacometti, Giorgio Morandi and others.
Produces clear visual reports with curvature maps and probability scores
Fully confidential and professionally documented
This methodology offers museums, galleries, collectors, and institutions a powerful new tool for authentication and provenance research.
